As it is often the case regarding any electronic music pioneer, it seems difficult to emphasize characteristic features or to categorize Tonio. Fifteen years of techno lived in all its forms have definitely broadened the scope of his expertise in a field where fad, trend and mannerism of the time cannot reach a musician's personality and his eagerness to always push back the envelope. "The movement has changed, the audience is much more fickle and we have to accept this evolution" affirms the artist without any doubt. "When I started I was playing garage techno, then I moved on to trance...Techno music I used to play, has become dated. I am not a 'techno DJ' anymore, I settled down. Nowadays music sounds to me much more accomplished and exciting". That is the vision he puts into practice when he plays in his latest residencies (a monthly residency at Rex Club in Paris, official DJ of the Electromind Tour, the biggest electronic music festival in France) as well as on records. In 2007, two eps are released on MB Elektroniks (Marco Bailey's label), one on Pornographic (Christian Varela's own label) and a forthcoming album with his partner in crime Olivier Giacomotto. In 2008, several ep was released on Definitive (John Acquaviva’s label), and Tonio will mix the compilation of the festival Electromind (march 2009).
